Taverniera spartea is a perennial legume native to the Middle East and North Africa. In Qatar, it has been found growing in sandy and rocky areas, often in association with other desert plants. Studies have reported its presence in various regions of Qatar, including the north and central parts of the country. The plant's ability to thrive in arid environments makes it a notable species in Qatar's flora, contributing to the country's unique biodiversity.
Taverniera spartea was observed in northern Qatar, specifically at the north end of a rocky ridge of Jebel Fuwairit and Jabal Al Jassasiya. The plant was found to be blooming in February, with flowers present on the bush and individual flowers observed in detail. The blooms were often covered in dew, and the plant's shoots and twigs were also noted. As the season progressed, fruits developed, including winged fruits that were observed in March and April. The plant's appearance changed over time, with seeds forming and the bush continuing to grow on rocky ridges. Observations were made at different times of day, including sunrise, and in various lighting conditions, providing a detailed record of the plant's characteristics and growth habits.
