Al Kheriza beach plant, inab al bahr, khureiza, Khurreyz, string of beads
Halopeplis perfoliata, also known as the shrubby seablite, is a halophytic shrub native to coastal salt marshes and saline environments. In Qatar, it has been found to grow in areas with high soil salinity, such as salt flats and coastal sabkhas. Studies have shown that H. perfoliata is well adapted to the extreme conditions of Qatar's coastal ecosystems, tolerating high temperatures, drought, and saline soils. It plays a crucial role in stabilizing the soil and providing habitat for various fauna in these environments.

The observations were made over a period of five years, from 2010 to 2015. The plant was found to have succulent leaves, which turned red or burgundy in the fall. It was also observed to produce small flowers and fruits. The plant grew in colonies on beaches and shores, and was able to tolerate harsh coastal conditions. The observations highlight the plant's ability to thrive in Qatar's salty and dry environment, and its unique characteristics, such as its fall coloration. Overall, the observations provide valuable information about the distribution, growth habits, and characteristics of Halopeplis perfoliata in Qatar.
