Erucaria hispanica is a small annual herb native to the Mediterranean region. In Qatar, it has been found growing in sandy and saline areas, often in association with other desert plants. It blooms from February to April, producing small white or yellowish flowers. The plant's presence in Qatar highlights the country's unique biodiversity and the adaptability of certain species to its arid environment.
Observations of Erucaria hispanica in Qatar were made on two occasions. On February 28, 2014, the plant was found in a depression on the roadside of a road to Zubara, in the area of Al Magdah farms. Similarly, on April 3, 2014, it was observed in the same location, with flowers present. The plant was growing in a depression on the roadside, suggesting it can thrive in areas with potentially more moisture. The presence of flowers in April indicates that the plant was in bloom during this time. The observations were made in Northern Qatar, specifically in the area of Al Magdah farms, which appears to be a suitable habitat for Erucaria hispanica. The plant's ability to grow in roadside depressions highlights its adaptability to different environments.
