Convolvulus pilosellifolius is a species of bindweed with hairy leaves and stems. In Qatar, it has been found to grow in sandy and rocky areas, often in association with other desert plants. It is a relatively small, prostrate or climbing herb with blue-purple flowers. Studies in Qatar have reported its presence in various regions, including the northern and central parts of the country. The plant's adaptation to the arid environment of Qatar suggests its potential for tolerance to drought and high temperatures.
Flowers of Convolvulus pilosellifolius were observed in various locations in Qatar, including sandy areas near Fuwairit and Irkhaya Farms, as well as on the side of Al Luqta Street in Doha. The plant was found to be blooming in April 2014 in both northern and southern Qatar. In December 2015, a flower was collected from a sandy area between Green Circles in Irkhaya Farms. Abnormal growth forms, including crested forms with stiff stems, were observed on the roadside of a road to Sawda Natheel in February 2016. Additionally, yellow-white chlorotic leaves were seen in a green depression in Harrarah in April 2016, indicating possible stress or disease affecting the plant. These observations suggest that Convolvulus pilosellifolius is widely distributed and adaptable in Qatar's environment. The plant's ability to thrive in different conditions is notable.
