Convolvulus fatmensis is a species of bindweed native to the Middle East and North Africa. In Qatar, it has been found to grow as an annual or perennial herb, typically in sandy or rocky areas, including coastal dunes and inland plains. Local studies have reported its presence in various regions of the country, often associated with other desert plant species. Its flowers are typically pink or white, funnel-shaped, and appear from February to May. As a relatively common species in Qatar's flora, Convolvulus fatmensis contributes to the country's unique desert ecosystem.
Observations of Convolvulus fatmensis in Qatar show that it grows in various environments, including silty depressions and windblown sand. The plant was found in areas such as Uwaynat Bin Husayn, Al Numan, and Khashem Al Nekhsh, with flowering occurring from February to April. The bindweed has a prostrate habit and produces white flowers, which are often followed by fruits. Seedlings were observed in January and February, indicating that the plant can germinate and grow during the winter months. The species appears to be adaptable to different conditions, thriving in both sandy and silty soils, and can be found blooming in various locations throughout northern Qatar. Fruits and flowers were observed in multiple locations, suggesting a widespread distribution of the species.
