This form of B. grows on beaches few meters from water line and has relatively small leaves. It has prostrate shape. Could be the only species of B.
Bienertia sinuspersici is a succulent halophyte that has been found in Qatar. It is known for its unique salt-excluding abilities and C4 photosynthetic pathway. Research in Qatar has focused on the plant's adaptability to high salinity environments, making it a subject of interest for studying salt tolerance mechanisms.
Observations were made of Bienertia sinuspersici, a salt-tolerant plant, at various locations in Qatar from 2015 to 2016. The plant was found on beaches and shores, often in large numbers, in areas such as Fuwairit, Ras Abrouq Peninsula, and Maszhabiya Reserve. It was observed in different stages of growth, from small seedlings to large mature plants. The plant's fruits were also observed, changing color from green to black as they ripened. The observations highlight the plant's ability to thrive in coastal environments with high salt levels. Overall, the data provides valuable information on the distribution and growth patterns of Bienertia sinuspersici in Qatar's coastal ecosystems. The observations spanned different seasons, allowing for a comprehensive understanding of the plant's life cycle and adaptability to its environment.
