Andrachne telephioides is a small, creeping plant that grows close to the ground. In Qatar, it has been found in coastal areas, where it thrives in saline environments. The plant's stems and leaves are adapted to withstand high salt levels and intense sunlight, allowing it to survive in these harsh conditions. Its small size and spreading habit enable it to colonize rocky shores and sandy beaches, making it a unique component of Qatar's coastal flora.
Andrachne telephioides has been observed in various locations in Qatar, including the area between Al Khor and Ras Laffan, where it was seen with flowers in November 2014. On Jebel Fuwairit, it was found with fruits on a rocky ridge in January 2015 and growing from cracks in limestone in March 2016. In Al Nuaman, near Zubara, the plant was observed in a silty depression with spreading shoots in March 2015 and again in October and November 2015. These observations suggest that Andrachne telephioides can thrive in different environments, including rocky ridges and silty depressions, and can be found in various parts of northern Qatar throughout the year. The plant's ability to grow from cracks in limestone and spread its shoots in silty areas highlights its adaptability to different habitats.
