Agriophyllum minus is an annual herb native to Asia and Europe. In Qatar, it has been found growing in sandy areas, often as a weed. Studies have reported its presence in various regions of the country, including the northern and southern parts. The plant's ability to thrive in arid environments makes it well-suited to Qatar's desert climate.
The plant Agriophyllum minus was observed in the Maszhabiya (Al Mashabiya) Reserve near Abu Samra, Southern Qatar, on multiple dates from April 1 to June 25, 2016. The plant was found growing on windblown sand at the foot of limestone cliffs and in sandy areas. Observations included close-ups of leaves, shoots, and branches, as well as images of individual plants and groups of plants. The plants were described as green, rare, and dry at different times, suggesting changes in their condition over time. The observations provide a detailed record of the plant's growth habits and appearance in its natural habitat. Overall, the observations suggest that Agriophyllum minus is a desert plant adapted to growing on sandy soils in Southern Qatar.
