Abutilon pannosum is a flowering plant native to tropical regions. In Qatar, it has been naturalized and can be found growing wild, particularly in areas with moist soil. It produces showy, bell-shaped flowers and has velvety leaves. The plant thrives in Qatar's subtropical climate and can often be spotted along roadsides, in gardens, and near water sources.

Initially, it was found behind a gas station on Al Sham Street in West Bay, Doha, and later in an oasis in Ras Abrouq peninsula. The plant was observed in different stages of growth, including blooming with flowers and fruits. Its leaves, seeds, shoots, and flower buds were also documented. The observations suggest that the plant is able to grow and thrive in urban and natural environments in Qatar, and can be found in various locations throughout the year. The recordings provide a detailed account of the plant's morphology and growth habits in the region. Overall, the observations demonstrate the presence and persistence of velvetleaf in Qatar's flora.
